Biography

I got my M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from Fudan University in China. During my graduate school period, I was trained as electrophyiologist. I investigated the effects of neursteroids on neurotransmission of prefrontal cortex using this technique. And then I came to Harvard University to pursue my postdoctoral training. I studied electrical synapses plasticity at Center for Brain Science of Harvard University and traumatic brain injury induced epileptogenesis at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Now I am working at Ann Romney Center for Neurologic Disease in Brigham and Women?s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Here I am investigating the synaptotoxic activity of Alzheimer brain-derived A-beta. My current work found that soluble A-beta from mild cognition impaired patients brain extracts suppressed the LTP in hippocampal brain slices by disturbing the excitatory and inhibitory balance.
