Minimally invasive facial cosmetic surgery procedures have seen an increase in numbers over the past 10 years. In fact, the number of soft tissue fillers grew over 300% from the early 2000. This number is expected to grow. Many of the facial fillers have a great safety profile with minimal adverse events. However, with increased clinical applications of these fillers and the increased numbers of procedures performed, the number of severe and dire adverse events is on the rise. This lecture will provide an overview of the available soft tissue fillers in minimally invasive facial cosmetic surgery. Advantages and disadvantages of each filler material will be described. Clinical indications will be reviewed. Potential complications will be discussed.
