Abstract:

Acne vulgaris is one of the most common skin concerns to visit a skin clinic. Additionally to young adults, middle-aged adults became patients. In some cases, acne vulgaris is shown uninterruptedly from adolescence, in others it appears at the end of adolescence and is characterized by specific localization of efflorescence in the lower parts of the face. The skin lesions most frequently occur in the age of 25. The aim of this study is to show the effects of ferulic acid and d`Arsonal treatments of acne vulgaris on the number of skin eruptions in adult women. The study group of 60 women was randomly assigned to two groups. The first group was treated with ferulic acid for 6 minutes. A course of five treatments was scheduled and performed once a week. The participants of other group were treated with high frequency d`Arsonwal for 6 minutes and similarly to the first group it was repeated five times, once a week. At the time of the initial consultation and later at every visit, skin eruption was counted and pictures taken. The study shows significant results of both: ferulic acid and high-frequency d’Arsonval treatments on the skin affected with acne vulgaris eruptions. Regardless of the time of appearance of skin lesions, their type and age of participants, statistically significant reduction in the number of skin eruptions was observed. The individual treatment plan in case of acne vulgaris diagnosing should be obtained for each patient and preceded by a thorough skin analysis of possible reasons by possible diagnostic tests and interviews.
