Research Interest

My major research experiences are in three main areas of polymer science and engineering: 1. Engineering aspects of Nano-structured polymer- and biopolymer-based complex systems containing different nanoparticles, particularly in terms of their formulation, processing and final properties. Particular attention has been paid on the rheological behavior of obtained systems and its correlation with the internal structure of nanocomposites. This topic is the subject of numerous current personal researches. 2. The design of a new class of Polymer-based nano-structured systems containing hybrid nanoparticles. Formulated nanocomposites show improved durability, obtained through the modification of the physical and chemical properties of the carbon nanotubes surface. This topic was the subject of my PhD studies and remains a major area of interest of my research. 3. Durability of polymer- and biopolymer-based systems, particularly in terms of degradation and stabilization, through the use of naturally occurring anti-oxidant and stabilizing molecules.
