Marlies, Gijs, Ph.D., postdoctoral research fellow at the University Eye Clinic of the Maastricht University Medical Center (MUMC+) (the Netherlands), holds a master in Biochemistry and Biotechnology from the University of Antwerp (Belgium) and received a doctorate in Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Liège (Belgium). Her current postdoctoral research includes the development of a new drug delivery device for the eye. Her research interests include drug delivery, medical devices, drug development, nano- and micromedicine and pharmaceutical sciences. She is editorial board member of Insights in Pharma Research. Her publications appear in Pharmaceuticals, Journal of Labelled compounds and radiopharmaceuticals and Current pharmaceutical design.
