Southwest Petroleum University(SWPU) 610500 Xindu Avenue No.8, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, P.R. China
Hu Jia is an associate professor in State Key Laboratory of Oil & Gas Reservoir Geology & Exploitation at Southwest Petroleum University, and he has been invited to join Texas Tech University to take part in a U.S. DOE project. He and his group focus on exploring new ideas to enhance oil and gas recovery in both conventional and unconventional reservoirs. He prefers to combine the philosophy of chemical formulas (additives) design with reservoir engineering by the using of experimental evaluation and numerical simulation approaches. Beyond that, his current research interests include formation damage diagnosing and developing or improving methods to mitigate formation damage during well completion and production through chemical treatment. He has authored and co-authored more than 40 technical papers and holds six Chinese patents. He holds a PhD degree in petroleum engineering from Southwest Petroleum University. He is a member of SPE and ACS.
