Biography

She is awarded PhD in Dermatology from Charles University, Prague in the year 1978-1984. She holds a MUDr, medical school qualification degree with honours, in 1984 at the 2nd medical school, Charles University, Prague. She has extended her valuable service as an Professor in Borreliosis Lymensis Cutis?, 1st Medical School, Charles University Prague (Czech equivalent to Full Professor) in 2004 and has been a recipient of many award and grants. Currently, she is the Chairwoman for Department of Dermatology, 2nd medical school, Charles University. Her international experience includes various programs, contributions and participation in different countries for diverse fields of study. Her research interests as a Professor reflect in her wide range of publications in various national and international journals. She is the Editorial Board Member of International Journal of Dermatology since 2000 , International Advisory Committee Member in Archives of Dermatology since 2001 , Editorial Boards Member JEADV since 2001, Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology since 2002, Chief Editor Czech-Slovak Dermatological Journal 2005?2008 and serves as a member of various associations and societies like Academy of Dermatovenereol, Society of Dermatovenereol, Phlebological Society, Society of Lasers in Medicine, Society of Lymhology, Society of Pediatrics, Society of Wound Healing, European EADV (11th Congress President 1999?2002), European Dermatology Forum, Medical Laser Association and Society for Cosmetic and Aesthetic Dermatology, Society for Dermatological Research, Central-Eastern European Dermatoven. Association, International society of Dermatology, International Academy of Cosmetic Dermatology, Women´s Dermatology Society apart from being an author for many books.

Research Interest

Research is focused on Lyme Borreliosis (the first ultrastructure of Borrelia burgdorferi in the skin was demonstrated and published in co-operation with the National Laboratory for Lyme Borrelisois, the role of Borreliae in morphea and Ehrlichiae in cutaneous manifestations of Lyme Borreliosis are studied recently). Other research activities include extracorporeal photophoresis (introduction of this method for therapy of mycosis fungoides in the Czech Rep.), skin tumors, vitiligo, lymphology, psoriasis and pharmacotherapy.
