Chiara Gambardella
Researcher at ISMAR-CNR
Italy
Chiara Gambardella took a degree in Biological Science in 2007 at University of Genoa (Italy) on marine ecotoxicology. After a PhD at the University of Messina (Italy) and several collaboration abroad in Europe and United States, she was awarded with the prestigious prize LOreal for Life Science Research Italy. From 2013 she works at the Institute of Marine Sciences - National Research Council (ISMAR, CNR, Genoa, Italy). Her main topics are focused on the effects of nanomaterials, pollutants, emergent compounds and marine litter on marine invertebrates, such as bacteria, microalgae, echinoderms, crustaceans and rotifers. She co-authored more than 40 scientific papers with impact factor and she participated to 45 international and national conferences.
Nanotoxicology and emerging compounds in the marine environment, Ecotoxicological analyses with marine invertebrates, Trophic transfer of pollutants and chemicals in marine organisms, Acute and behavioural responses of marine invertebrates to traditional and emerging pollutants
