    Features and Data Graphs of Hospitalisation Fever: A Case in Teaching Medical Centres

    Background: The understanding of hospitalization fever remains limited. Improving care could be facilitated by considering specific diseases associated with fevers, as indicated by ICD9 codes in admission or discharge notes. Methods: We conducted an analysis using data from Taipei medical university hospital, examining 59,772 inpatient admissions and 425,488 nights of stay annually between 2007 and 2009. Decision tree and rule induction techniques were employed to characterize fever related diseases during hospitalization. Association rules were generated to suggest and validate comorbidities beyond those related to fever.
