Empowering Healthcare through Education: Is the Primary Trauma Care Course Impactful in Sub-Saharan Africa?: A Literature Review

Background: Injury-related mortality and morbidity contribute significantly to public health concerns. Insufficient resources, infrastructure and workforces, infancy trauma care system, and training programs in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) extended the injury burden, resulting in increased deaths. In such cases, the proposed solution is to provide a resource-friendly, highly impactful training approach. The Primary Trauma Care (PTC) course was developed to provide a reasonable replacement for local resources, given that Advanced Trauma Life Support training (ATLS) is unaffordable in resource-limited regions.
