Biography

Deborah Allen received her MSc in Human Nutrition from the University of Ulster, Northern Ireland. She subsequently trained as a Dietitian at Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK. Currently she resides in Abu Dhabi, UAE where she is Lead Dietitian within the Physical Readiness Department of the UAE Armed Forces. Her main focus is obesity management and health promotion within this population. In the past, Deborah has worked as nutrition researcher for the Institute of European Food Studies, Trinity College, Ireland and as an associate lecturer in Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia. She has also worked as an emergency nutritionist for an international charity in Malawi, Africa. Deborah is currently studying functional nutrition with the US Integrative and Functional Nutrition Academy.
