Prevalence, Identification and Associated Risk Factor of Bovine Tick Infestation in and around Bahir Dar, Ethiopia

A cross sectional study was conducted from October 2021 to September 2022 in and around Bahir Dar, to determine the prevalence of the tick infestation and identify the tick species in cattle. The aim of the study to determine the prevalence and associated risk factors, identification of tick species and characterize tick infestation of cattle in the study area. Ticks had a significant effect on the production and economic losses in the livestock industries by creating critical animal health problem especial for sub saran and saran countries. A systematic random sampling technique was used to select 800 animals while questionnaire interview of 100 cattle farmers for examined tick identification from which 77.67% of them were found infested with tick.
