Abstract

Obstructed Hemivagina And Ipsilateral Renal Anomaly Syndrome With Uterus Didelphys (OHVIRA): A Case Of Patient Presenting With Abdominal Pain

A Azaki

OHVIRA (Obstructed hemivagina and ipsilateral renal agenesis) is a rare congenital anomaly of the female genital tract. It is mainly diagnosed in adolescents after menarche or incidentally while investigating unilateral renal agenesis. A 30-year-old female patient previously healthy, presented to the emergency department for evaluation of severe right lower quadrant pain associated with one episode of vomiting. CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis was done and showed didelphys uterus with obstructed right hemivagina and ipsilateral renal agenesis. Surgical management discussed with the patient was not followed as she decided to seek surgical management in another medical center where her primary physicia-n attends.
