Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) products are available preparations of immunoglobulins extracted from plasma pools obtained from more than 1,000 healthy donors per lot. The inhibitory capacity of the IgGMA preparation was more potent than the capacity of an IVIgG preparation. IgM-enriched IVIg used in different cases of severe sepsis and polyneuromyopathy but the effectiveness was not the same. Although IgM-enriched IVIg has some adverse effect on the kidney.
