Abstract

Merging pediatric dentistry into medical clinics for better pediatric care

Tonya Burns

Pediatric Dentistry is critical to the overall health of children across the globe. However, it is vastly underutilized in the medical community.  Creating a culture of inclusion of Pediatric Dentistry into Pediatric Medicine will better children’s overall health and more importantly, help parents better understand the need for oral health as a whole.  In this presentation, understand the evolving reimbursement in oral health, under healthcare insurance (USA) and by further supporting the need by recognizing that it should be under the medical umbrella, instead of a division of it’s own. Discover the process of incorporating Pediatric Dentistry in the Medical Clinical Setting from a Practice Management/Business Standpoint.  There is valuable revenue that is being omitted and can help the healthcare community as a whole.  Bring to light the lack of dental knowledge in the medical community and the importance it would bring to educating parents and caregivers across the globe.
